- Weight: If you’re planning to just use your mat within the home then weight may not be an issue. However if you plan to travel with your mat you may wish to look for mats that are lighter and easier to carry.

A hot yoga towel
If you plan to (or already) attend hot yoga classes, you may wish to purchase a hot yoga towel.
Because the truth is, even the best hot yoga mat can get a little defeated by a super sweaty hot yoga class.
You will sweat a lot in hot yoga, so a towel like this one helps to soak up this level of sweat while still providing you with non-slip grip.
These are placed over the top of your yoga mat and can be washed between classes making them a hygienic choice!
How to clean a sweaty yoga mat
Whether your yoga mat claims to be antimicrobial or not, you still need to regularly clean your yoga mat to prevent build up of bacteria and keep your mat smelling fresh.
I would recommend cleaning your mat at least once a week, but preferably after each use, particularly after those sweaty sessions!
To clean your mat, simply spray with an antibacterial natural yoga mat spray and then wipe off the residue with a damp cloth. Easy!
