How to Create a Powerful Digital Vision Board: 5 Easy Steps

Sharing is caring!

Creating a vision board can be a powerful way to visualize your dreams and desires and get into the ideal mindset to manifest your goals with the Law of Attraction.

But what if a traditional vision board making session with magazine cutouts and Pritt stick just isn’t your thing?

And what if you quite honestly don’t have the time… or you consider yourself too lazy to put in the time? (no judgment here!)

This is where creating a digital vision board comes in!

What is a vision board?

First of all, what exactly is a vision board?

A vision board is typically a board full of images and words that help you visualize your dreams and desires.

The idea is that the actual creation of this board, and just looking at the board itself, can get you in the right mindset and help you to embody the feelings associated with having your desire.

If you’re familiar with the Law of Attraction (if not, you really should be), the process and final outcome of creating a vision board can be a really powerful tool to manifest your goals.

And for this reason, you might have seen the words “vision board”, “dream board” or “manifestation board” more frequently as others start to recognize their value in manifestation.

But the problem that not many people seem to talk about is that creating a typical vision board isn’t for everyone.

And by that I mean, not all of us consider ourselves the creative type or want to invest a lot of time creating a vision board that we’re happy with.

For the more perfectionist types (*raises hand*), creating a vision board by hand can actually be a frustrating process.

Because when things don’t go exactly how you want them to, or when you get glue all over your nice new desk, there isn’t an edit > undo option.

And if the process is frustrating, that really defeats the entire purpose of the vision board process.

Frustration isn't exactly beneficial to manifestation.

But thankfully for those of us who might turn our noses up at the very thought of sitting down for a heavy cut and stick session, we live in a digital age.

So before you cancel the idea of vision boards altogether, let’s talk about the magic of a digital vision board instead!

The benefits of a digital vision board

A digital vision board is a great option if, for whatever reason, you don’t want to create a traditional vision board.

Here are some reasons you might want to give one a try:

  • More room for mistakes if you’re a perfectionist: unlike your traditional vision board, a digital vision board has the advantage of endless editing and reshuffling until you get that “perfect” result that you feel represents your vision
  • Can evolve as your vision changes: as your dreams and desires change, you can edit your vision board to reflect this. Gone are the days of creating an entirely new board when your current board no longer aligns!
  • Save on supplies: creating a digital vision board can be completely free if you want it to be! You don’t have to invest in supplies like magazines, scissors, glue, and paper, like you might have done for a traditional vision board.
  • Save time: for the most part, a digital vision board is going to take much less time than your usual method. You don’t have to worry about cutting out images and perfectly sticking down edges when you can just drag and drop!
  • More easily accessible: my favorite bonus of a digital vision board is that as long as you have your digital device with you, you can access it anywhere! This means that when you need a boost of positivity or inspiration while on your morning commute, while doing your weekly food shop or any other mundane activity, your vision board is right there with you and only a click away.

How to create a powerful digital vision board

So, how do we go about creating a digital vision board powerful enough to manifest our biggest desires? It’s super easy!

Step 1: Set your vision

The first step of creating any vision board is, of course, to set your vision.

Take some time to think about what it is that you want to manifest in your life.

Some examples of goals and desires might be:

  • Your dream home
  • Your dream car
  • Your dream career
  • A job promotion
  • A salary or amount of money
  • A test result

These are just examples of course. But you can use your digital vision board to manifest anything that you set your mind to!

With your intention in mind, spend some time thinking about how you’d feel if you had your desire right now.

Think about what your life would look like, who you’d be with, the emotions you’d be experiencing.

These are all things that you want to portray in your vision board, and this is what is going to make your board such a powerful tool for you!

Step 2: Choose your format

Now you have a solid vision, it’s time to figure out how you’re going to create your digital vision board.

Unlike the traditional cut and stick method on paper, your options are much wider when it comes to creating a vision board digitally.

Here are some of my favorite options for creating a powerful board!

Canva

Canva is a great online photo editing and graphic design tool.

It comes with free and paid options, but the free option has such an extensive amount of features that you definitely won’t need a pro license to create your vision board.

Canva is very beginner-friendly and houses a variety of different templates that make it easy for you to create your vision board to your own individual requirements.

And, if you really want the hard work taken out for you, I even have a very affordable Canva vision board template that allows you to just drag and drop your images and words to have a powerful digital vision board in minutes!

Picmonkey

Like Canva, Picmonkey is another great website for making vision boards.

It has some other options that aren’t available in Canva, but the downside is that it’s not free.

While Picmonkey isn’t super expensive, it is only available as a recurring subscription so you will see that money come out of your account each month.

If you want an online tool with lots of features but want to avoid this cost, they do have a free 7-day trial.

The Picmonkey free trial might be a great option if you want to create a one-off vision board, but if your intention is to create vision boards time and time again (for free!), Canva is probably the better option of the two.

Visuapp

If you want to invest less time in creating your vision board, and instead focus that time towards manifesting, Visuapp is an amazing option.

Visuapp is a free digital vision board app for your phone or tablet, which allows you to save inspiring photos and quotes to a digital vision board with the intention of using them to visualize and manifest each day.

The app is a great way to hold you accountable on your manifestation journey, with the option to set reminders to meditate on your vision and how long for.

Plus it allows you to have multiple different dreams in one place and prioritize them.

However, while the most basic options are free, you will have to upgrade if you want some other features that they offer.

Pinterest

If you want to keep things really simple, creating a Pinterest vision board is one of my favorite types of digital vision board.

Unlike some other options which require you to organize your images and make your board look aesthetically pleasing, all you have to worry about with your Pinterest vision board is pinning your images.

Creating a Pinterest board is super simple.

All you have to do is create a new board with an inspiring name and save all the relevant images and quotes that align with your vision to that board.

Then whenever you need a burst of inspiration or positivity, you can go to that board and spend some time visualizing!

And as another top tip, why not create an entirely new Pinterest account specifically for manifestation?!

Then you can have several boards, each representing a different dream or desire, all in one place.

Step 3: Gather your images

Once you’ve chosen your method for creating your digital vision board, it’s time to gather images to go on your board!

The idea is to take images that make you feel connected to your vision. If you feel like an image helps you visualize your end goal, it’s the perfect candidate to go on your board!

An obvious choice for sourcing vision board images is google images, though I often find that it’s harder to find more inspiring images on this platform.

My favorite place to source inspiring images is Pinterest, and this is especially beneficial if you’re creating a Pinterest vision board because you can do absolutely everything within the platform.

If you’re using Canva, they also have free stock photos available within the app, with the option to purchase any pro photos that you might wish to add to your collection.

Alternatively, free stock photo websites can also be a great place to source images for your digital vision board, with Unsplash being my personal favorite!

Step 4: Create your board

Now you have your image collection, it’s time to add them to your platform of choice to create a board that represents your vision.

There is no right or wrong way to do this - the key is to make sure that the board is a visual representation of what you want to achieve or accomplish.

If you add something to your board and it doesn’t feel like a great fit after all, feel free to remove it. This is one of the best benefits of creating a digital vision board over a traditional one!

Play around with your board until it feels like it feels right.

Make sure to add inspiring words too as these can really help when using your board for manifestation!

Step 5: Put your digital vision board everywhere

As I mentioned earlier, a key benefit of creating a digital vision board is that it is so accessible when you want to visualize.

When you’re working on manifesting your desired vision, it’s a good idea to put your vision board in as many places as possible so that you see it often and are reminded of what you’re working towards.

You can print it and frame it in your room like you might do with a regular board, and you can add it to your bookmarks or favorites on every device so that it’s easily accessible whenever you need it.

One of my favorite tips is to create a vision board wallpaper.

Add your board to your home screen and lock screens so that it’s always in sight when you’re using your digital devices!

Remember, creating a vision board should be a fun and inspiring process that enhances your manifestation practice.

If at any point, creating a vision board feels like a chore, or you simply feel that it’s not for you, you are not obligated to create one!

There are lots of other Law of Attraction techniques that can help you manifest your desires.

For example, why not try creating a manifestation box instead?

The key is to find what works for you in your own practice. Find whatever this is and be consistent with it to watch your dreams come true!

Happy manifesting!
